ILC Netherlands is a charitable institution which aims to put aging high on the social and political agenda. ILC Netherlands is supported by Leyden Academy on Vitality and Ageing and Vereniging Aegon, and is a member of the International Longevity Center Global Alliance, an international federation of centers for active and healthy aging.
ILC Netherlands complies with the requirements of the tax service. Gifts of donors and companies are therefor tax deductible and we do not pay taxes on donations and legacies.
Prof. Tineke A. Abma (1964)
Since 1 December 2019, Professor Tineke A. Abma is President of Leyden Academy of Vitality and Ageing and of ILC the Netherlands. For over twenty-five years, she has been researching themes closely related to ageing, such as patient and citizen participation, long-term care, ethics and diversity. Taking the perspective of older individuals as a starting point and respecting and valuing the differences between people, is her personal motivation and also a key characteristic in the research and activities.
Ir. Maarten C. van Veen (1935)
Until 2008, Maarten van Veen was chairman of the Royal Holland Society of Sciences and Humanities. In addition to this, he sat on several boards of companies like ABN-AMRO Holding, Imtech, AKZO Nobel, Corus and the Advisory Committee Programme Economy, Ecology and Technology. He was also member of the board of directors of the Rijn-Schelde Verolme Group, Estel plc and Corus.
Yvonne Schinkel-Koemans (1972)
In December 2009 Yvonne joined the ILC Netherlands and the Leyden Academy team. As a communications officer, she is involved in media requests, printed matter (including the compilation of the annual report), social media and the website. Furthermore, Yvonne provides communication support in various activities and projects.
